About Us
Our Philosophy
We view learning as an active, joyful process that flourishes when children feel safe, seen, and supported. Our curriculum supports growth across all domains—cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language development—while honoring each child’s individual pace and learning style.
Rooted in developmental theory and shaped by the interests of children, families, and community, our curriculum is meaningful, while also leaving room for the magic to emerge. We trust in the unexpected moments of connection, and wonder that arise when children are given the space to explore freely and authentically. Our curriculum unfolds in expanding circles—beginning with the self, then family, community, and finally the natural world. This structure helps children build a sense of identity, belonging, and responsibility.
What is an intergenerational preschool?
An intergenerational preschool intentionally incorporates different age groups – in this case, preschoolers and residents of RoseVilla – into the learning environment to foster meaningful, cross-age relationships.
Such relationships have been shown to improve the social and emotional skills of children and to promote feelings of social connection, well-being, and sense of purpose in older adults.
Our program provides opportunities for RoseVilla Residents to volunteer for events and enrichment lessons. It also incorporates collaborative opportunities for elders and children to interact in daily activities and projects, including artwork, gardening, integrated games, neighborhood walks, and story time.
Testimonials
We are obsessed with Rosebud - the teachers, the environment, and the overall philosophy. Maxwell is thriving there and we are so grateful to be part of such a wonderful program. It's so much more than a safe place for Max to be while we're working - it's a place where he interacts with young and old, is inside and outside, has structured activities and time to explore.
From her first day, our daughter has felt comfortable and at home at Rosebud, and so have we. Her teachers are warm, caring, and create an enriching and fun environment for the class. We’ve felt so welcomed by all the staff and other parents. Rosebud is such a special place, and we are so grateful!
We love Rosebud and its staff! Our son is flourishing there and loves going to school every day. The teachers are warm, great with the kids and excellent communicators as well as providing age appropriate curriculum and activities to engage the children. We could not be happier.
Rosebud has been such a wonderful experience for our family. The teachers are so kind and engaged. Our child is always so excited to get to school in the morning: she loves the creative art projects; she loves the field trips the students take on the RoseVilla campus; she loves her teachers; and she loves the time she spends with the RoseVilla residents. Rosebud has enriched and expanded her world, and given her the chance to make cross generational connections. We feel lucky to have Rosebud in our lives.
