Anya Papageorges

About Anya

Prior to completing her undergraduate education, Anya worked as an assistant teacher at a local learning center. During this experience, she was mentored by an early childhood education professional with more than three decades of experience. This mentorship challenged her to find new and engaging ways to introduce toddlers to the world around her. Anya learned the importance of working together as a team with parents and guardians to provide consistent care and a sense of security.

Anya moved to Arkansas in 2018 and found a job as a classroom technician at a pediatric day center. She provided care for children with developmental delays and disabilities. This experience taught her that growth looks different for every child. She learned the interconnected nature of different developmental domains and how vital it is to take a holistic approach to a child’s care and education.

After moving back to Oregon in 2020, Anya graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science and Liberal Studies with a minor in Child, Youth, and Family Studies in 2023. Her college experience helped conceptualize her previous childcare experiences through theoretical frameworks and learn about the psychology of families. She learned about how children’s literature and art projects are vital tools for promoting language acquisition and social and emotional skills.

Anya’s senior capstone gave her the opportunity to work with adults with disabilities at Camp Kiwanis and it made her realize that she loves caring for people of all ages and ability levels. After graduating, Anya wanted to find a job which allowed her to work in an environment that excited and inspired her. When she discovered Rosebud, she was immediately interested in the concept of an intergenerational preschool. The idea of a community of people of all ages coming together to play, learn, and care for one another seemed wonderful. Anya is excited to work in a vibrant environment which gives her the chance to foster connections between the generations.
