About Chris

Chris holds a Bachelor’s of Arts from the University of Rhode Island in History and Political Science. When asked about his work with children ages 2–5-years-old, Chris explains “I love their inquisitiveness and awe at the world around them. It is a reminder to appreciate it and care for it more than we do.”

Prior to Rosebud Preschool, Chris worked at Childswork Learning Center, where he developed an introductory Italian culture enrichment class. This work led him to become familiar with the Reggio-style approach to emergent curriculum. The joy of discovery, passion for student-led projects, and sense of community that the Reggio approach aspires cemented his decision to dedicate his career as a teacher and parent to this philosophy.

When he’s not leading song time, you can find Chris growing his own vegetables and fruits, hiking, kayaking, and cheering on the Portland Timbers and Thorns soccer teams.
